The Veterans Advisory Board will act as a critical friend to the Government on all issues that affect veterans in order to support the delivery of the Strategy for our Veterans and the achievement of its vision to make the UK the best place to be a veteran in the world by 2028. It will provide independent insight and advice to Ministers about the effectiveness of current veterans policies and services and on future needs and expectations. It provides advice, challenge and diversity of thought to the government on veterans issues, including supporting the delivery of the Strategy for Our Veterans. It is chaired by Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove. The board met for the first time in November 2020 and will meet three times a year.
